Rylance Ironworks
As portraiture becomes more of a fascination of mine, I’m always drawn to artists and anyone in the art of craftsmanship. The origins of this Jersey based company date back more than 45 years to a general welding and metal fabrication workshop, now run by Stephen Rylance who specialises in high quality hand forged and bespoke items.
The company has an interest in celebrating, preserving and adding to Jersey's rich heritage of architectural ironwork. I went up to spend the afternoon looking at some of the techniques that they used, and found a beautiful workshop that was the perfect backdrop for some location portraits.
